Is there a connection between the saying "Today is the first day in the rest of your life" and "Everyday is Earth Day"?
As you ponder that question, just say "Yes" and come out for a CATS Earth Day project this Saturday, April 21st.
In the morning, from 9:00 to noon, you can join us at the Cheney Mountain Trail in Moriah to clean up the trailhead area and hike to see some fabulous views. CATS is partnering with the Town of Moriah on this project. Everone is welcome--just bring gloves, water, and some stamina to hike up a sometimes moderately steep hill to the summit (my son says "this hike is a little harder than easy"). Directions are below.
And then at 1:00, the afternoon Earth Day project begins at the new Woods and Swale Trail in Westport. This will be the trail's first "official" hike and will showcase a variety of wildflowers as you pass through diverse woodlands. Then, you'll have your choice of picking up roadside litter along Sherman Road or cleaning up along Halds Road over by Coon Mountain. We should be done by 3:30 and again, everyone is welcome for this easy hike and fun project.
