Please join in the celebration of Champlain Area Trails (CATS) on National Trails Day to honor the vision, progress, and people who are making a trail system to link Champlain Valley.
The event will feature author and speaker Eleanor Berger followed by a reception at the beautiful Black House Farm overlooking Lake Champlain in Essex. Ms. Berger, author of Stepping Out: A Tenderfoot’s Guide to the Principles, Practices, and Pleasures of Countryside Walking will discuss the benefits of an integrated trail network and recount highlights from her book which invites the casual walker to put on a light pack, lace up a pair of hiking boots, and set off on walks through the countryside.
This will be a great opportunity to get together with friends, meet new people, and enjoy an early summer afternoon with fellow hikers.
