Bill McKibben wrote Wandering Home: A Long Walk Across America's Most Hopeful Landscape which describes his three-week hiking adventure from Ripton, Vermont to the southern Adirondacks. Most of this expedition took place in the Champlain Valley including the Split Rock Wildway where many of the CATS trails are located. Wandering Home inspired the creation of CATS as a network of trails that link our communities, connect people with nature, and promote economic vitality.
